BSISE Educational Objectives

The objectives of FIU BSISE program are that its graduates, in their early careers, have:

  1. Applied ISE concepts and tools with a systems perspective to achieve their organizations mission.
  2. Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
  3. Acquired new knowledge and skills to strengthen and advance their professional careers and personal growth.
  4. Conducted themselves as ethical and socially responsible professionals.

 

BSISE Program Outcomes

The BSISE program is designed to form and educate students who, by the time of graduation, will have

  • An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering.
  • An ability to design and conduct experiments to evaluate systems and processes, analyze and interpret data.
  • An ability to design, analyze, implement and improve integrated systems, components, or processes to meet desired needs.
  • An ability to function and provide leadership in multidisciplinary teams.
  • An ability to identify, formulate and solve industrial and systems engineering problems.
  • An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
  • An ability to communicate effectively.
  • The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.
  • A recognition of the need for and an ability to engage in lifelong learning.
  • A knowledge of contemporary issues.
  • An ability to use ISE techniques, skills and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
  • An ability to integrate the engineering and business processes of an organization.

 

 
ABET

The Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET) accredits engineering programs on a nationwide basis. Students wishing more information about accreditation should consult their respective departmental office or the Office of the Dean. The following baccalaureate engineering programs in the college are accredited by ABET, Inc., Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering
and Mechanical Engineering.

ISE undergraduate program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET). ABET accreditation is a continuous process.
