ENTERPRISE INFORMATION SYSTEMS RESEARCH LABORATORY
<empty>
Interdisciplinary laboratory with emphasis on information systems analysis, design and implementation for various organizations by applying and integrating information technologies. The staff of this laboratory address general systems improvement problems in both manufacturing and service industry. We specialize in developing decision-support systems, database systems, information modeling, productivity improvement projects, and optimization problems.

HUMAN FACTORS AND ERGONOMICS LABORATORY
<empty>
The Human Factors and Ergonomics Laboratory is used for research and teaching in the areas of Usability Engineering, Cognitive Design, Ergonomics, Methods Engineering, and Safety.  The lab contains instrumentation to investigate a wide variety of technology interfaces including standard desktop interfaces, Internet appliances, wireless and handheld interfaces, and in-vehicle computer interfaces.  Ergonomics and Methods laboratories include job analysis, time study, methods engineering and biomechanical evaluation.

CENTER FOR APPLIED RESEARCH IN INDUSTRIAL & SYSTEMS ENGINEERING

NASA has established a long term, self sustainable combined research and educational program at Florida International University. This program has been funded through Industrial and Systems Engineering. The research has targeted women, Hispanics, African Americans, and other underrepresented minorities to engineering, and ultimately NASA related career paths. This has been the primary mission for the ARISE program.

ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING LABORATORY
<empty>
The mission of the ESE Laboratory is to establish a scientific foundation for study of the integrative and collaborative nature of enterprise behavior in the global economy.  It aims at developing and applying system engineering tools and techniques to planning, specification, modeling, analysis, design and implementation of an enterprise system in its life cycle.  The goals of this laboratory are to be the leader of teaching and research in enterprise systems engineering, and to be the leading test bed for evaluation and diagnosis of enterprises and their systems.

This laboratory currently houses enterprise-related systems such as ERP, PDM/PLM, and project management for teaching purpose.  These enterprise systems include SAP, Windchill, Matrix-one, and M/S Project.  This lab is also equipped with engineering design, systems, and IT tools in support for graduate teaching and research in this area.  The available tools include Oracle, Wizdom/IDEF, CASE/ROSE tools, MSDN Suite, ARENA, Deneb/QUEST. Petri Net, and LINDO/LINGO

The Engineering Manufacturing Center (EMC) is a fully integrated manufacturing system, from concept, through prototyping, to finished hardware or manufactured tool and die assemblies.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE FOR UNDERGRADUATES
<empty>
The Research Experience for Undergraduates Program at Florida International University is an opportunity for undergraduates from around the country to participate in exciting research projects while learning valuable skills.
   
ABET
The Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET) accredits engineering programs on a nationwide basis. Students wishing more information about accreditation should consult their respective departmental office or the Office of the Dean. The following baccalaureate engineering programs in the college are accredited by ABET, Inc., Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering
and Mechanical Engineering.
